In CheckMK, understanding hosts and services is fundamental. Here's a breakdown:
- Hosts: These represent individual devices or systems you want to monitor. This could be a physical server, a virtual machine, a network switch, or even a cloud instance. CheckMK keeps track of the overall health and status of these hosts.
- Services: These are specific functionalities or applications running on a host. CheckMK can monitor individual services like web servers, databases, or specific applications. By monitoring services, you can identify issues within a host that might not be apparent from just looking at the overall health.
FojiSoft can be configured to pull status and metric data for Hosts and Services from CheckMK.
