Foji is a powerful data integration platform that allows you to connect and process data from various sources, including LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) directories. This documentation will guide you through the process of configuring an LDAP connector in Foji. The LDAP connector enables you to establish a connection with your LDAP server and retrieve user information for data integration tasks. To configure the LDAP connector, you will need to provide the following fields: Name, URL, Connection Mode, TLS Options, Use STARTTLS, Read-only User DN, Read-only Password, User Search Base, Attributes, and Features.

Step 1: Accessing Connector Configuration

  1. Log in to your Foji account and navigate to the connectors section.
  2. Click on the "Add Connector" button or select the option to create a new connector.

Step 2: Naming the Connector

  1. In the "Name" field, enter a unique name for your LDAP connector. Choose a descriptive name that helps you identify the purpose or characteristics of this connector.

Step 3: Providing Connection Details

  1. Enter the LDAP server's URL in the "URL" field. This should be the address of your LDAP server.
  2. Select the appropriate connection mode from the "Connection Mode" dropdown. You can choose between "Direct" or "Agents" based on your LDAP server configuration.
  3. Configure the TLS Options as per your LDAP server requirements.
  4. Toggle the "Use STARTTLS" option if your LDAP server supports STARTTLS encryption.

Step 4: Authenticating Read-only User

  1. Enter the "Read-only User DN" and "Read-only Password" fields. These credentials will be used for authenticating the read-only user account to establish a connection with the LDAP server.

Step 5: Specifying User Search Base and Attributes

  1. Provide the "User Search Base" where Foji will search for user information within the LDAP directory.
  2. Under "Attributes," specify the LDAP attributes to retrieve for each user. Common attributes include username, email address, first name, last name, and display name. You can select the relevant attributes from the provided options.

Step 6: Configuring Features

  1. Toggle the "Allow User Login" option if you want to enable user login functionality using LDAP credentials in Foji.

Step 7: Saving the Connector Configuration

  1. After providing the necessary configuration details, click on the "Save" or "Create" button to save the LDAP connector configuration.
  2. Foji will validate the connection and establish a connection with your LDAP server.
  3. You can now use this LDAP connector in your Foji workflows to retrieve user information and perform data integration tasks involving LDAP directories.
  4. Contact the Foji support team for more information on utilizing the LDAP connector within your workflows.

Conclusion

By following the steps outlined in this documentation, you can configure an LDAP connector in Foji. This allows you to establish a connection with your LDAP server and retrieve user information for seamless data integration tasks using the Foji platform.
