Alertus

Alertus is a powerful mass notification system that seamlessly integrates with FojiSoft, allowing you to deliver instant notifications during emergencies or important events. This guide will walk you through the steps of setting up a connection between FojiSoft and Alertus, ensuring you can keep everyone informed in real-time.

Agent Pool Configuration

If your Alertus server is not accessible from the internet, you must configure an agent pool to be allowed to communicate with your server.

1. Log into your Foji account
2. Access Agent Pools under Integrations in the navigation menu of the Settings application
3. Edit the agent pool
4. Add your Alertus server name and port to the list of allowed hosts. The following standard ports may be useful for reference:
   • http: 80
   • https: 443
5. Save the agent pool

Adding a Connection

1. Log into your Foji account
2. Access Connections under Integrations in the navigation menu of the Settings application
3. Click the New Connection button
4. Click the Alertus Api provider in the list. You may search for it in the search box or find it under Enterprise
5. Configure the Connection Fields
6. Click the Create button

Configuring Connection Fields

Name

Enter a unique name for your connection. This name will help you identify and manage your connections within FojiSoft.

Folders

Optionally, select or create folders to better organize your connections. See Connection Folders for more information.

Host

Enter the host name of the Alertus server. For example: alertus.example.com

Connection Mode

Select the applicable connection mode:

• Agents: if using an Agent Pool to connect to the Alertus server
• Direct: if Alertus server is accessible from the internet

Username

Enter the username for an Alertus user

Password

Enter the password for the Alertus user

Create a Subscription

Notifications are sent via subscriptions. You will need to configure one or more subscriptions based on your specific needs.

NOTE: Only users who are allowed the notifications.alertus.send action will be able to create or manage subscriptions targeting Alertus.

1. Log in to your Foji account and access the Settings application
2. Click on Subscriptions found in the navigation menu under Notifications

   

3. Click the New Subscription button in the upper right corner

   

4. Click the Subscribe button for the desired notification source
5. Enter a short message in the Text field. This message may be used as the alert text.
6. Select Alertus Preset Activation in the Channel option
7. Select your Alertus Api connection in the Connection option
8. Select the Alertus Preset that will be activated
9. You can choose to use either the existing preset text or override it with the text from the notification subscription
10. Click Create
