Foji is a versatile data integration platform that allows you to connect and process data from various sources. This documentation will guide you through the process of configuring a connector for Active Directory in Foji. The Active Directory connector enables seamless integration with Active Directory, a directory service that stores and manages user and computer identities. To configure the connector, you will need to provide the following fields: Name, URL, Connection Mode (Direct or Agents), TLS Options, Toggle Use STARTTLS, Read-Only User DN, Read-Only Password, User Search Base, and Toggle Allow User Login.

Step 1: Accessing Connector Configuration

  1. Log in to your Foji account and navigate to the connectors section.
  2. Click on the "Add Connector" button or select the option to create a new connector.

Step 2: Naming the Connector

  1. In the "Name" field, enter a unique name for your Active Directory connector. Choose a descriptive name that helps you identify the purpose of this connection.

Step 3: Configuring Active Directory Connection

  1. In the "URL" field, enter the URL or IP address of your Active Directory server. This should be the location where the Active Directory service is accessible.

  5. In the "TLS Options" field, select the desired TLS configuration for the connection. This allows you to enable secure communication between Foji and Active Directory.
  6. Toggle the "Use STARTTLS" option if you want to enforce the use of STARTTLS for the secure connection. STARTTLS upgrades a plain text connection to a secure TLS connection.
  7. In the "Read-Only User DN" field, enter the distinguished name (DN) of the read-only user account that Foji will use to connect to Active Directory.
  8. In the "Read-Only Password" field, enter the password for the specified read-only user account.
  9. In the "User Search Base" field, specify the base distinguished name (DN) where Foji should start searching for users in Active Directory. This narrows down the scope of the user search.
  10. Toggle the "Allow User Login" option if you want to enable user login functionality within Foji. This allows users to log in to Foji using their Active Directory credentials.

Step 4: Testing the Connection

  1. Once you have provided the necessary configuration details, click on the "Save" button to verify the connectivity between Foji and Active Directory.
  2. Foji will attempt to establish a connection using the provided information. If the connection is successful, you will receive a confirmation message. Otherwise, please review the entered information and ensure that they are accurate.

Step 5: Saving and Using the Connector

  1. You can now use this connector in your Foji workflows to interact with Active Directory, such as querying user information, retrieving group memberships, or performing other Active Directory operations.
