Configuring Google Account Authentication

From FojiSoft Docs

FojiSoft provides seamless integration with Google Accounts for user authentication. Configuring Google Account authentication is a straightforward process that enables users to log in using their Google credentials. This article walks you through each step of the process to ensure a smooth setup.

Prerequisites

  • You must have a FojiSoft account with the necessary permissions to access the Settings application and configure integrations.
  • A valid Google account or Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) account.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Log Into Your FojiSoft Account

To begin configuring Google Account Authentication, log into your FojiSoft account. Ensure that you have appropriate admin or configuration rights, as this process involves changes to your system's authentication settings.

2. Access Connections Under Integrations

Once you're logged in, navigate to the Settings application in the navigation menu. In the left sidebar, look for the Integrations section. Under this section, click on Connections. This is where all external integrations with your FojiSoft system are managed, including the Google Identity provider.

3. Click the "New Connection" Button

On the Connections page, you'll find the New Connection button. This button allows you to create a new authentication integration. Click it to start the configuration process.

4. Select Google Identity Provider

In the list of available integrations, you’ll see various options for connection types. Locate and click on the Google Identity Provider option. You can also use the search box to find it quickly by typing “Google” or “Identity Provider.” This integration allows users to authenticate using their Google credentials.

  • If you cannot find the option, check that you are in the correct section of integrations (under Identity).

5. Configure the Connection Fields

Once the Google Identity Provider is selected, you'll need to configure several fields. Here’s a breakdown of the fields you will need to complete:

Name:

This field is required and should contain a unique name for your connection. The name you choose will help you manage and identify this specific authentication connection in your FojiSoft platform. For example, you could name it “Google Authentication” or “Google Login” to indicate its purpose.

Folders:

Optionally, you can organize your connections by selecting or creating folders. This is especially helpful if you manage multiple integrations and want to keep them organized. Folders help group similar connections together, making it easier to find and manage them later. If you don't want to use folders, you can leave this option unselected.

Allowed User Domains:

This is an optional field where you can specify which Google account domains are allowed to authenticate. For instance, if you only want users from a specific company or organization to log in (e.g., yourcompany.com), you can enter that domain here.

If you leave this field blank, individual or non-enterprise Google accounts are allowed to authenticate. In this case, users must be manually added to your FojiSoft system before they can log in using Google authentication. It's important to note that if you are working with a Google Workspace account, you can restrict authentication to specific domains.

6. Click the "Create" Button

Once you've filled in the necessary fields, review your settings to ensure everything is correct. After verifying your information, click the Create button to finalize the Google Account authentication connection.

After creation, the new connection will be saved and available for use. Users can now authenticate using their Google credentials, based on the configuration you've set.

Conclusion

By following these steps, you have successfully configured Google Account Authentication for your FojiSoft account. This integration provides a convenient and secure way for users to access your platform using their existing Google credentials, streamlining the login process.
