Spreadsheet Integration

From FojiSoft Docs

This document provides detailed instructions for configuring a spreadsheet as a data source in FojiSoft, based on the interface elements shown in the provided image.

1. Configuring the Data Source

  • Name: Enter a descriptive name for your data source.
  • Folders: Optionally, assign the data source to a specific folder or category to help organize your resources. This is useful for grouping similar data sources.

2. Connection Settings

  • Connection: Select the appropriate connection where the spreadsheet data will be stored. This typically links the spreadsheet data to a database table or a file storage system. If the dropdown is empty, ensure you’ve set up a valid connection in FojiSoft’s global settings.
  • Target Table: Specify the target table in the database where the spreadsheet data will be imported. This is a required field.

3. File Settings

  • File: Upload or select the spreadsheet file from the available file repository. This step is essential as the platform needs the file to extract data.
  • Sheet: Select the specific sheet within the spreadsheet from which data will be imported. This option ensures only relevant data from the correct sheet is processed.

4. Mode

  • Replace Data in Table: This dropdown specifies how data should be updated in the target table. The options include:
    • Replace Data in Table: Clears existing data in the table before importing the spreadsheet data.
    • Append Data to Table: Adds the spreadsheet data to the existing data in the table without overwriting.
    • Update Data in Table: Updates existing records in the table based on the spreadsheet data.

Choose the mode based on your update requirements.

5. Scan Interval

  • Scan Interval: Define how frequently the spreadsheet data is scanned and updated in the target table. The default interval is 15 minutes. Adjust this interval according to how often your spreadsheet data is updated.

6. Activating the Data Source

  • Enabled Toggle: Toggle the "Enabled" switch to activate the data source. Once activated, the system will start scanning and importing data based on the configured settings and scan interval.
  • Save Configuration: After completing the setup, click the Create button (located at the top right of the interface) to save the configuration.

Error Troubleshooting

  • Missing Connection: If the "Connection" field is empty, ensure a valid connection is configured in FojiSoft’s settings.
  • Invalid File or Sheet: Ensure the uploaded file is in a supported format (e.g., .xls, .xlsx, .csv) and the selected sheet exists within the file.
  • Permission Errors: Verify that you have appropriate permissions to access the target table and upload files.

This configuration allows seamless integration of spreadsheet data into FojiSoft's data processing ecosystem, providing flexible and efficient data management for operational and analytical needs. For advanced configurations, refer to FojiSoft’s user manual or support portal.
